Stemming from a belief that our children can learn about God, the love of Christ and values that reflect moral fortitude in a playful and nurturing environment, Godly Play is the program of Christian Education/Formation that Trinity offers to children ages 3 years through 5th grade. Ages 3-12 are invited to come together with trained teachers to play and learn every Sunday, between services -- at the Sunday school time. We meet on the third floor of the parish house at 10:15 each Sunday during the school year.
The curriculum is based on "Godly Play." Godly Play™ is a method of Christian education and spiritual direction for children ages 3-12. The goal of Godly Play™ is to teach children the art of using religious language -- parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action -- to help them become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence in their lives.
Our hour together is spent hearing the stories and learning about the journey of the People of God. As we are all members of that Great Family promised to Abraham and Sarah, these are our stories and journey too. It is an honor to wonder with the children as they begin their journey with God.
