Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry  program provides people with the education to carry out that ministry. During the Service of Confirmation we ask God to "Renew in these your servants the covenant you made with them at Baptism. Send them forth in the power of the Spirit to perform the service you set before them." EfM offers an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service.

Education for Ministry (EfM) is a four-year theological course of study out of the University of the South. Students commit to the program for one academic year at a time and meet weekly for seminar sessions.  The students in Year One study the Old Testament and spend a portion of the seminar time discussing the week’s lesson.  We also participate in a theological reflection to gain insight into God’s presence in our everyday lives.  EfM meets every Wednesday from 6-8:30 in the parlor.  Enrollment for new students begins each year in August.

EfM meets every week for two and a half hours to connect as a group, discuss our lessons, and learn both to expand our thinking and to stretch our faith with the theological reflection; we close each meeting with worship.  The purpose of EfM is to find our own personal ministries.  EfM requires an immense time commitment but our members all agree that our weeks are not complete without our time together.
